Senior consultant

Jason Hughes is a Senior Consultant at Circular Consulting, LLC. Jason also serves as State Representative for Louisiana House District 100 in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Rep. Hughes graduated from McDonogh #35 Senior High School and attended Southern University and A&M College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with honors and was a Chancellor’s Scholar. He previously served as the assistant legislative director to former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco, the regional manager for former US Senator Mary Landrieu, and the Director of Federal Relations for the City of New Orleans and as a senior cabinet member for two university system presidents and a public school superintendent. He is considered an expert legislative and public policy strategist, and provides regular political and election night analysis for a local news affiliate. 

During his tenure in the legislature, Hughes has worked to pass crucial bipartisan legislation, including a statewide constitutional amendment. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, and as a senior member of the House Committee on Health and Welfare; House Committee on the Judiciary; and the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget. In addition, he serves as a member of the national executive committee for the Council of State Governments; Vice Chair of the Health Committee for the National Council of State Legislatures; and the youngest member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB). He is a life member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, and holds numerous memberships with esteemed organizations in education, technology, and business enterprises.
